Way better than the 1998 remake

Posted : 10 years, 5 months ago on 25 May 2014 05:32 (A review of Godzilla)

In 1998, we got a terrible remake of 'Godzilla', it had a poor script, poor acting and not enough good scares! Fortunately, this version is a comeback!

Way better than the 1998 remake, 'Godzilla' takes a new approach in Japan and stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson! It has marvellous looking sets but also the script contains many plotholes like why is Godzilla helping the humans and defeating the monsters? There's also the fact that Aaron Johnson looked too young to be playing a father but at least he gave a good performance! 'Godzilla' was a little disappointing but I still liked it!

The best show ever!

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 20 May 2014 04:06 (A review of The Simpsons)

Hey everyone! It's here! The best show ever! Here's my review of...

'THE SIMPSONS' WOOP WOOP WOOP WOOP WOOP WOOP! Yes itโ€™s finally here! The bloody wait is over! I hate waiting for things!

'The Simpsons' is not simply my favourite cartoon but also my favourite show! It's been going for 25 years! And personally, yeah, the first ten years were the best! But everyone thinks that Season 10 was the last good season of the show! I disagree, I still love this show! In fact, here are some of my favourite episodes from Season 11 onwards:

I love 'The Bob Next Door', 'Trilogy of Error', 'A Tale Of Two Springfields', 'Brick Like Me', 'Double, Double, Boy In Trouble', 'The Great Louse Detective' and 'Homerland'

And come on, you can't argue that at least one of those is actually very good! Most of them have received very good reviews and itโ€™s not very hard to see why! You may have only liked the first ten seasons of โ€˜The Simpsonsโ€™ but I like every season!

Let's talk about the first ten years of the show:

When 'The Simpsons' left 'The Tracey Ullman Show', they started a new TV show for themselves! They made acclaimed episodes and in 1999, it was considered the best show of the century! In 2000, the family were awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

The show is about a yellow skin family living in the fictional town of Springfield; there's dumb, crude, overweight, selfish and lazy but essentially decent Homer (Dan Castellaneta) and his tall haired friendly wife Marge (Julie Kavner) and their kids 10 year old underachiever Bart (Nancy Cartwright), 8 year old nerd Lisa (Yeardley Smith) and 1 year old baby genius Maggie. There's also friendly neighbor Ned Flanders (Harry Shearer), rich villain Mr Burns (Harry Shearer), Bart's best friend Milhouse (Pamela Hayden), Homer's father Abe (Dan Castellaneta) and unhealthy life liver Krusty (Dan Castellaneta)

There are so many characters from 'The Simpsons' and the show holds the record for the most guest stars including (but not limited to): Marcia Wallace, Phil Hartman, Danny DeVito, Kelsey Grammer, Joe Mantegna, Liam Neeson, Michelle Pfeiffer, Anne Hathaway and Tom Hanks!

'The Simpsons' has gotten lamer over the years but some people still love it and I am one of the positive people! Critics are still praising the show for its excellence! And I don't want the show to ever end (yeah it's that good)

This is my 200th review and it's the review of a genius work! Congratulate my 200th review if you're an ultimate 'Simpsons' fan. I am an ultimate one! Thank you!

Should have been called 'Movie Of A Wimpy Kid'

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 19 May 2014 04:38 (A review of Diary of a Wimpy Kid)

Should have been called 'Movie Of A Wimpy Kid'
The writers of the movie got the title wrong! Should have been called 'Movie of a Wimpy Kid' and this screenplay is rather wimpy itself!

I haven't seen the second 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' movie but come on! 'Dog Days' is about as lame as this! None of these movies have been well received and I can see why! Boring and not funny and a waste of talent!

OMG!!! 'Simpsons' review comes next!

A classic

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 18 May 2014 06:54 (A review of The Little Mermaid (1989))

'The Little Mermaid' is considered one of Disney's best movies! It is indeed pretty good! A classic!

The plot focuses on Ariel (Jodi Benson), a 16 year old mermaid who wants to go on land which her father Triton (Kenneth Mars) won't let her do. Ariel goes to see Ursula (Pat Carroll) who wants to kill her to get revenge on her father, who banished her a while ago! Ariel soon meets Eric (Christopher Daniel Barnes) and they fall in love. Ariel also gets legs!

The plot is very similar to 'Splash' in which Allen Bauer (Tom Hanks) fell in love with a mermaid (Daryl Hannah) who was secretly a mermaid! Except in that movie, the man is the protagonist and here the mermaid is the protagonist!

'The Little Mermaid' has a good screenplay, voice acting, animation (as usual) and some funny characters!

The best superhero movie since 'The Incredibles'

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 18 May 2014 06:34 (A review of The Dark Knight)

Christopher Nolan is king of directors! Everything he does is awesome! 'The Dark Knight' is the best superhero movie since 'The Incredibles' and in actuality, the new superhero movie champion!

'The Dark Knight' sort of retells the second half of Tim Burton's 'Batman' which involves Batman (Christian Bale) saving Gotham from a new villain The Joker (Heath Ledger) who (before wearing makeup) killed Bruce's parents as a boy. Heath Ledger's Oscar winning performance is just amazing! It's just sad that he died before the movie came out and he never knew how well his performance was received!

If you remember in 'Batman Begins', Rachel was played by Katie Holmes and now she's played by Maggie Gyllenhaal! Sadly Rachel dies in this one never to be seen in Christopher Nolan's 'Dark Knight' series again!

'The Dark Knight' gave Christopher Nolan's trilogy its name! It's because it the best one! (I doubt I will find 'The Dark Knight Rises' better)

I have plans to see all of Christopher Nolan's movies to see if they're all good ('Man of Steel' has received mixed to positive reviews) and I'm not involving 'Transcendence' just because Nolan had nothing to do with it except produce it! If 'Transcendence' gets nominated for a Razzie for Worst Picture, it'll be Christopher Nolan's first Razzie nomination! Hope not!

I can't wait for 'Interstellar' to come out! I hope I will enjoy it! But that's Christopher Nolan! He makes good to great movies!

Dark and amazing!

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 17 May 2014 06:42 (A review of Batman Begins)

Oh man, 'Batman & Robin' was so bad, we thought that 'Batman' was gone for good! Thanks to Christopher Nolan for bringing Batman back! And better than before!

'Batman' seemed short as it told Bruce (Michael Keaton)'s parents being killed at the beginning and then the appearance of The Joker (Jack Nicholson). The Joker doesn't even appear in this one (to later appear in 'The Dark Knight) and in this version, Bruce (Christian Bale) becomes Batman after about 1 hour.

'Batman Begins' is like the first half of 'Batman', 'The Dark Knight' (presumably) finishes it off! Dark and amazing, 'Batman Begins' is also the beginning of director master Christopher Nolan's trilogy!

'Chocolat' is indeed sinfully delicious!

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 10 May 2014 05:51 (A review of Chocolat)

When I heard of 'Chocolat', every time we talked about chocolate in French, I thought about the movie a lot! In the end, I watched 'Chocolat' and it was a great movie!

'Chocolat' is indeed sinfully delicious! This movie supplies different types of chocolate when Vianne Rocher (Juliette Binoche) arrives in a town in France with her daughter and she opens a chocolate shop. Her chocolate changes the lives of the townspeople.

Juliette Binoche is joined by actors including Johnny Depp, Judi Dench, Alfred Molina and Lena Olin who are all really good in it as well! 'Chocolat' is (probably) the most delicious movie of 2000 but not the best...

The last 30 minutes are amazing

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 7 May 2014 04:44 (A review of Superman)

'Superman' was a little disappointing in my opinion! But still the last 30 minutes are amazing! And actually I think Superman (Christopher Reeve) is actually a pretty lazy name! Just because Superman is a superhero who can fly, compare it to Batman (Michael Keaton) or Spider-Man (Tobey Maguire) or even Hulk (Eric Bana) who doesn't even have "Man" in his name! But still, the last 30 minutes of 'Superman' are actually really impressive because the world starts crumbling but Superman fixes it by flying round the globe (literally) and repairing all the damage and saving Lois Lane (Margot Kidder)! That is impressive, but sadly the other minutes are not consistent! Some of the minutes are very good and others are boring!

I just find it overrated

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 7 May 2014 04:14 (A review of Robin Hood (1973))

'Robin Hood' is not a bad Disney animated classic; the animation is good, the plot is faithful to the original story but why is Robin Hood (Brian Bedford) a fox? I just find it overrated which is a shame because it could actually be a lot better!

Loved, loved, loved it!

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 4 May 2014 12:41 (A review of Slumdog Millionaire)

I love 'Slumdog Millionaire', loved, loved, loved it! What did I give it out of 10? A. 6 B. 7 C. 9 D. 10

If you guessed 10, you're right, you're right, you're right! In fact this movie deserved 1,000,000/10! It's just so great!

'Slumdog Millionaire' is the Oscar winner of 2008 and it's bloody easy to see why! It's amazing!
