Confusing, but inspiring, clever and funny

Posted : 9 years, 9 months ago on 13 July 2014 07:57 (A review of Midnight in Paris)

Confusing, but inspiring, clever and funny, 'Midnight In Paris' is a charming movie about a man named Gil (Owen Wilson) who travels back in time at midnights. While Wilson's performance in my opinion isn't that amazing, the supporting cast, consisting of Rachel McAdams, Michael Sheen, Kathy Bates, Adrien Brody, Marion Cotillard and Carla Bruni are good in their roles.

The movie is complicated and I can't give better details of the plot but if you watch the movie, you will love it yourselves. Love the concepts!

One of the best meals out there

Posted : 9 years, 9 months ago on 13 July 2014 05:06 (A review of McDonald's)

McDonald's has been known for over 70 years and is an iconic meal. One of the best meals out there, my usual is double cheeseburger with fries and a chocolate milkshake. Except I hate the green pickles in the cheeseburgers and I take them out before eating the burger. Aside from that, a great meal to eat

A tasty combination of healthy and unhealthy

Posted : 9 years, 9 months ago on 13 July 2014 05:00 (A review of Candy Apple (Toffee Apple))

Here's my first food review. Candy apples, a tasty combination of healthy and unhealth. A rare tasty treat usually only found at Halloween and Bonfire Night!

Not as good as the first two but still very good

Posted : 9 years, 9 months ago on 12 July 2014 06:58 (A review of The Dark Knight Rises)

'The Dark Knight Rises' is the final movie in Christopher Nolan's 'Dark Knight' trilogy. It doesn't rise the 'Dark Knight' trilogy but I still think it is worth seeing.

The first 30 minutes are boring, the rest of it is brilliant! And the ending of Bruce Wayne/Batman (Christian Bale) being presumed dead is amazing and how Alfred (Michael Caine) witnesses him with Selina (Anne Hathaway)

The movie is however, not the same limit as 'Batman Begins' or 'The Dark Knight' and is slightly disappointing. Still the cast is amazing, the visual effects are cutting edge, etc.

It's scary and awesome. The songs are great.

Posted : 9 years, 9 months ago on 6 July 2014 07:46 (A review of The Nightmare Before Christmas)

If you want examples of Tim Burton's work. This is one of the best. It's a dark animated movie (perhaps a bit too scary for kids though). It's scary and awesome. The songs are great.

The movie focuses on the Pumpkin King, Jack Skellington (Chris Sarandon) who is tired of this job and discovers Christmas Town where he takes over Santa (Edward Ivory)'s duties and delivers presents to children.

'The Nightmare Before Christmas' is one of Tim Burton's dark animated movies (as well as 'Corpse Bride'). It's also better and more creative. It's one of the best movies of the year, if not the best!

The plots are poorly told

Posted : 9 years, 10 months ago on 5 July 2014 07:09 (A review of New Year's Eve)

'New Year's Eve' is the all new 'Love Actually'. Except it's not about Christmas but instead New Year's Eve. You would think that with a cast including Michelle Pfeiffer, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jessica Biel, Robert De Niro, Halle Berry and many others, Garry Marshall would be able to direct them in a great movie. He obviously can't. The plots are poorly told, the laughter is low and the acting is not very bright either. It's one of the worst movies of the year.

There are many bad remakes, and this is one

Posted : 9 years, 10 months ago on 25 June 2014 03:39 (A review of Lord of the Flies)

There are many bad remakes, and this is one of them. 'Lord of the Flies' is a remake of a 1963 movie based on the novel by William Golding where a bunch of British schoolboys end up on an island. In this version, the boys are American and from a military school.

I've seen Americanization before, but this movie has too many differences. This is just boys squabbling, fighting and killing each other. Not much else happens except for a pig's head being put on a spear and Piggy (Danuel Pipoly)'s glasses being broken and him crying in one of the most annoying ways!

I'm not one of the only people who hated it. Roger Ebert and Gene Siskel didn't like it either! This movie features annoying chemistry between the two enemy groups and nothing interesting! The ending doesn't really make much sense! Ralph (Balthazar Getty) runs into warship officers! We don't hear any arrivals, I mean in the sky appears a helicopter. It's like the sound device broke for loud noises!

My temptation is for all who can to see this movie

Posted : 9 years, 10 months ago on 23 June 2014 06:53 (A review of The Last Temptation of Christ)

Willem Dafoe plays Jesus in a movie about Jesus' crucifixion. This movie has the right title! This movie covers the last temptation of Christ!

My temptation is for all who can to see this movie! (should be fine for mature teens 13 and up) 'The Last Temptation of Christ' is something that you'll need to watch all off to understand the ending.

Spoiler alert: This is a big spoiler! Go to the next paragraph if you don't want to know what happens or unless you've seen the movie;

When Jesus (Dafoe) is on the cross, he is tempted by a young girl who claims to be his guardian angel (Juliette Caton) and she takes him down from the cross. Jesus is then cleaned up by Mary Magdalene (Barbara Hershey) who he marries but she dies before giving birth to a baby. Eventually as an old man, Jesus realises that to die on the cross would've saved the world. The "guardian angel" is revealed to be Satan and Jesus realises that he wants to die on the cross. When this movie took us back to Jesus near death on the cross, this movie made a lot of sense to me

This movie is very interesting, the temptation scene made a lot of sense in the end and I understood it. Willem Dafoe is great as Jesus and is well cast. The rest of the cast are also very good and Martin Scorsese's direction is brilliant! (it's an Oscar nominated direction by him)

This movie is rated 15 but it should be fine for mature teens 13 and up. Yeah, this movie is bloody but the only violent scenes are when Jesus takes out his heart (in a vision) and the whole crucifixion scene which gives you most of the details. But not recommended for anyone under 13!

This movie makes sense for the recommended audiences! Anyone under 13 should not understand it! If I’d seen this movie at 10 years old, I wouldn’t have understood it! So parents, don’t show this to your kids, wait until they’re 13 and then show them how amazing this movie is! What an inspiring movie!

The plot is good but at times, it's not well told

Posted : 9 years, 10 months ago on 21 June 2014 07:35 (A review of Erin Brockovich)

Julia Roberts is a very successful actress and when she played Erin Brockovich in Steven Soderbergh's 'Erin Brockovich' movie, she won an Oscar, BAFTA, Golden Globe and many other awards.

The movie focuses on the true story about Erin Brockovich (Roberts), an unemployed single mother who wants to find a job and later ends up fighting against the energy corporation Pacific Gas and Electric Company for its polluted water. The plot is good but at times, it's not very well told. Julia Roberts' performance is good though!

If you think I'm harsh, check out Roger Ebert's review of it, he found it worse than I did! I found it alright but he didn't like it!

Visually stunning

Posted : 9 years, 10 months ago on 15 June 2014 07:00 (A review of Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope )

'Star Wars' is currently the 3rd highest grossing movie adjusted for inflation, when it was released, it was the highest grossing movie ever (unadjusted). The movie was well received and I can see why!

Visually stunning, 'Star Wars' is one of the all time best movies out there, set in the future, a group of freedom fighters known as the Rebel Alliance plots to destroy the Death Star space station, which carries a planet-destroying capability created by the Galactic Empire. This conflict disrupts the isolated life of farmboy Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) when he inadvertently acquires the droids containing the stolen plans for the Death Star. After the Empire begins a destructive search for the missing droids, Skywalker agrees to accompany Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi (Alec Guinness) on a daring mission to rescue the owner of the droids, the rebel leader Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher), and save the galaxy

'Star Wars' features stunning sets, costumes and a charming cast. A mindblowing villain Darth Vader (David Prowse and James Earl Jones) along with all the Storm Troopers and unusual characters such as Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew).

'Star Wars' is an amazing action movie and I hope for...whatever year it is set in...to remember this classic! But if it's a classic, who can forget it!
