Non-stop laughs and some very good songs

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 28 October 2013 08:30 (A review of South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut)

It took 'The Simpsons' 18 years to finally make their movie and it was an animated masterpiece

It took 'South Park' 2 years to finally make their movie and it was a hilarious animation (and they made it before 'The Simpsons Movie')

'South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut' is full of non-stop laughs, much like 'Borat', it is incredibly rude, filthy, offensive, funny, funny, funny and funny

No doubt that if they'd had the Oscar® for Best Animated Feature as long as Best Short Animated Film, 'Toy Story', 'Toy Story 2', 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' and 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarves' would've all been nominees and maybe even 'South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut'

It is frequently hilarious (especially Cartman who is always hilarious in the cartoon) and the songs are very well written

'Beavis and Butt-head' and 'Futurama' are also adult cartoons with animated movies but I'm not convinced they can beat 'South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut' or 'The Simpsons Movie'

Why can't 'South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut' and 'The Simpsons Movie' get sequels, an abysmal internet series 'Fred' got THREE movies!!!

To conclude, it is really hilarious and is worth your time

Detailed and powerfully acted

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 20 October 2013 03:44 (A review of Captain Phillips)

'Captain Phillips' is an incredibly enjoyable movie, Tom Hanks delivers one of his best performances in a true masterpiece

Tom Hanks is a decent choice for Captain Phillips and appears alongside Barkhad Abdi who is also very good

'Captain Phillips' is smart and detailed with very good directing and cinematography, may well turn out to be the best movie of 2013 yet

To conclude 'Captain Phillips' is clever and absolutely powerful and a must-see especially for the biggest Tom Hanks fans

Excellent

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 19 October 2013 07:03 (A review of The Simpsons Movie)

We saw 'The Simpsons Movie' in the cinema and it was so funny, they had some decent guest stars (Albert Brooks, Marcia Wallace, Joe Mantegna, Tom Hanks and Green Day) and a really funny and good story, some funny jokes, some brilliant acting (especially Julie Kavner and Dan Castellaneta who delivered strong performances) and a very entertaining comedy, some funny, awesome new characters (Russ Cargill, Colin) and a very funny nude sequence with Bart

I thought 'The Simpsons Movie' was just so amazing, two minutes of the cartoon, I would laughing like crazy, 86 minutes? 43 times funnier; better than funny, better than very funny, better than hilarious, even better than laugh your socks off; ALL OF THEM IN ONE BOWL OF COMEDY! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Bart’s nude skateboarding? HAHAHAHAHAHA! Homer reactivating the bomb? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Homer nailing a tile to his leg? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Anything else? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

To conclude it is a must see especially if you’re a die-hard fan of the cartoon

A clever, terrifying masterpiece

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 19 October 2013 06:59 (A review of Inception)

'Inception' is just really fun to watch, the story is confusing but also really amazing when you can figure it all out! 'Inception' has a decent performance from Leonardo DiCaprio and its action scenes are epic

There was a great cast (Leonardo DiCaprio, Ken Watanabe, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page, Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Tom Berenger, Michael Caine), non-stop excitement and some of the most awesome action scenes ever.

'Inception' is a must-see for any action movie lover. No one can resist!

A funny, detailed, sweet comedy

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 19 October 2013 06:48 (A review of Four Weddings and a Funeral)

We tried to watch 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' more than a year ago, the DVD wasn't working, eventually we got it to work and watched it

'Four Weddings and a Funeral' is a really funny movie. Good acting and a hilarious scene with Rowan Atkinson!

In my favorite movies 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' comes between 'Hitler: The Rise of Evil' and 'Forrest Gump' and is an improvement over 'Groundhog Day' and 'Mickey Blue Eyes'

The story is very interesting: Charles is a man who falls in love with a woman called Carrie, except he doesn't admit his love until his wedding (the last in the movie)

'Four Weddings and a Funeral' is another well done for Richard Curtis and definitely worth watching

Hilarious with endless laughter

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 13 October 2013 11:23 (A review of Bean)

'Bean' is a movie we have on VHS, when I found it on the shelf, I put it on

'Bean' is absolutely hilarious from shaving to gun faker to bathroom mishap, it's laughter is only silent at brief times

Rowan Atkinson's performance is very funny and how can Hollywood not resist the endless laughter from 'Bean'

'Bean' is a hilarious must-see for any comedy lover

A mediocre movie

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 13 October 2013 07:18 (A review of The Last Legion)

I found 'The Last Legion' on Netflix and I watched it, I thought it was a great movie which I found very interesting, especially the ending.

However, as I got older, I reconsidered and found it to not be that good, with the casting, writing and acting not being so good. But there is a great fight sequence at the end, as well as a very interesting ending, and I won't ruin it for those who haven't seen it (and not many people have). Not terrible, but not good either

Bad looking, badly acted and almost pointless

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 12 October 2013 01:35 (A review of Super Mario Bros.)

The story of 'Super Mario Bros.' is when the meteor struck the Earth and vaporized the dinosaurs, it split the Earth into two dimensions, it sounded a good story but then the story turned out just as bad as everyone says

'Super Mario Bros.' is too scary, creepy and sophisticated for kids who were bought into the educational Mario games, it's flashy sets and special effects help its badness slightly but not from being a bad movie

Hiring Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo to play the Mario brothers was a waste of time and money as (because they are), they look 20 years apart?! What the hell?

And how come Mario and Luigi never wear their usual clothing (gloves, hats, overalls and tops), also they forgot to give Luigi a mustache, King Koopa's costume is way beyond obnoxious, he looks exactly like his actor Dennis Hopper except he has the same shaped head as Lisa Simpson and the tongue of a snake!

The Goombas look absolute crap! Not only are they taller than the Mario brothers, but they look like this: (here's a picture of a Goomba in the games and in the movie) NOTE: I could not find a game version of Goomba on it's own

What the hell?

The story turned out a flop, the acting is awful (the only exception being Bob Hoskins, the only actor doing his job well and properly earning the money for it, I bet Tom Hanks is glad he didn't do the part, he did 'Philadelphia' which earned him his first Oscar and 'Sleepless In Seattle' the same year)

To conclude 'Super Mario Bros.' is a complete mess and definitely not worth a look at all even if you're a die-hard fan of the game.

A wasted opportunity

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 6 October 2013 06:46 (A review of Mickey Blue Eyes)

I watched 'Mickey Blue Eyes' because there was Hugh Grant in it and it was on TV, not very funny and really dull, the tagline 'A romantic comedy you can't refuse' is the wrong tagline and the story is just so boring

To conclude, 'Mickey Blue Eyes' is another tedious comedy and not really worth a look at all

Nice scenery but bland and forgettable

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 6 October 2013 10:01 (A review of The Great Gatsby)

I watch many movies because one actor is involved in it, unfortunately for that, the movie I watch can turn out to be one of the worst ever and 'The Great Gatsby' is not an exception

I watched 'The Great Gatsby' because there was Leonardo DiCaprio in it, he's good but everyone else sticks out like a sore thumb, I do not blame Leonardo DiCaprio or Tobey Maguire for being involved, the novel is being considered one of the best novels of the 20th century (however I do not think the novel would be any better)

Although I don't blame Tobey Maguire for this disaster, he was the wrong choice for Nick Carraway

Honestly I had high expectations of about 8 out of 10 so this is a huge disappointment and quite possibly the most disappointing movie I've ever seen (possibly also the longest bad movie I've seen and definitely one of the most overrated movies ever)

The story is boring and only decent for 10 minutes, it's worse than 'The Beach' which is good for 30 minutes, 'The Great Gatsby' is 143 minutes whereas 'The Beach' is only 120 minutes and I want 133 minutes of my life back!

I can't say anything about the 3D except I didn't watch it in 3D and I didn't like the music because it was too modern, 'The Great Gatsby' is set in the 1920's and the music is far too 2013

I bet the novel is worse than the movie and I probably will never read it (my expectations are it'll be pretty abysmal anyway), what lets 'The Great Gatsby' down is the boring non-stop story, for about 15 minutes, I want Leonardo DiCaprio to appear and when he does at last, it's one of the only two good scenes (the beginning and the party at Gatsby's mansion)

To conclude, although I don't hate it as much as I used to, apart from nice scenery and lead acting, it is a bad, bland movie and not worth a look at all
