Scares heights better than Brave

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 4 October 2013 06:21 (A review of Monsters University)

After watching my least favourite Pixar movie Brave, I wasnā€™t convinced that this would improve over Cars or A Bugā€™s Life, even though it is the fourth lowest score (so far) that Iā€™ve given to a Pixar movie, Iā€™ve given it the same rating as Ratatouille, it was rather funny (even though the 3D was rather useless) and even though it doesnā€™t scare the heights of the Toy Story series, Cars 2, WALL-E, Up or even the first film, it is still a delight for children and adults and is worth a look, well done Pixar!

Letā€™s get Bruce, Plankton and Jaws to destroy this

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 4 October 2013 06:15 (A review of Shark Tale)

I was a very young kid when I saw this one, I guess itā€™s not really a film for adults or children over about 9, now I just think this is DreamWorksā€™s first bad animated film and basically a bland rip-off of Finding Nemo and is not worth a look at all and if you have young kids, just show them something youā€™d enjoy too

A brilliant future film

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 30 September 2013 07:27 (A review of Back to the Future)

After watching Alice In Wonderland and Epic Movie, I was curious to see what else Crispin Glover had done, since we had the DVD of the whole 'Back To The Future' trilogy, I decided to check it out, there was a decent cast (Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, Crispin Glover) and an entertaining story,

'Back To The Future' is as good as Avatar and a big improvement over many Universal classics (even The Flintstones) and is definitely a must see.

A boring, unfunny rip-off of Outnumbered

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 30 September 2013 06:15 (A review of Modern Family)

I don't see why everyone enjoys 'Modern Family' so much, the episodes of the first series are as bad as each other and the episodes of the third series are a lot worse

'Modern Family' in my opinion, is just a bad rip-off of Outnumbered, the houses look similar (especially the hall).

In my opinion, the show is rubbish and not even the first two episodes are worth it! Ugh! I wish Fox would stop producing it and put more money towards 'The Simpsons' (right now 'The Simpsons' is in the stages of coming off the air because the actors demand higher payments)

Youā€™ll get lost at sea here

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 28 September 2013 12:18 (A review of Return to the Blue Lagoon)

Many people love 'The Blue Lagoon', I on the other hand found it rather bland, so I didnā€™t really like the first one but this was even worse, where should I start?

Firstly, they pointlessly changed the ending: at the end of the first one, Richard and Emmeline are thought to asleep and the people who were looking for them found them, now the beginning of this: the ship that finds them just saw them unexpected and now Richard and Emmeline are dead but their son is still alive, thatā€™s like the finders in the first film found them, killed them and left them so that someone else would find their corpses, honestly, the corpses of Richard and Emmeline creep me out

So the beginning doesnā€™t make sense, secondly, they basically repeated the story but the children are babies when they end up on the EXACT SAME ISLAND!!!

And they get castaway with the girl (Lilli)ā€™s mother (also itā€™s kind of odd how the boy Richard is the son of the two castaways from the first film)

I can also say of the horrible scenes such as a sailor attempting to kill the children and Sarah (the mother of Lilli) beats him to death and the scene in which a sailor tries to rape Lilli and Richard violently fights the sailor until he is eaten alive by a shark, honestly, there are scenes in which Richard messes with the shark! WHO THE HELL MESSES WITH A SHARK???

I also hate how they now give the creepy cannibals at least 3 minutes of screen time and the baby only like 10 seconds, in the first one, the baby receives 30 minutes of screen time and the cannibals only receive like 5 seconds (the babyā€™s not creepy like the cannibals)

Milla Jovovich and Brian Krause are the only actors who actually try to give a decent performance, the rest of the cast give weak, painful performances

To conclude (Iā€™ll say nothing else about this terrible sequel, of course donā€™t be surprised as 95% of sequels are bad anyway), 'Return To The Blue Lagoon' is a terrible sequel to an already average predecessor and is definitely not worth a look, even if you loved the first one or the novel

A craplousy movie!

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 27 September 2013 08:22 (A review of Battlefield Earth)

Worst movie ever? Not to me! One of the worst? Absolutely, ā€˜Battlefield Earthā€™ is being considered one of the worst movies ever. Alas, that is true! 'Battlefield Earth' has a silly storyline as well as an overuse of tilted angles and slow-motion, aliens that don't look like aliens, worthless action scenes and don't even get me started on acting (especially John Travolta)!!!

It is so ugly; John Travolta and Forest Whitaker play aliens but they look like the ugliest humans in the world, honestly, you turn a good looking man into an ugly, creepy alien who doesnā€™t even look like one, they're aliens, they're nine feet tall? They sound exactly like humans!

I'd agree with Roger Ebert who said:

"Hiring John Travolta and Forest Whitaker was a waste of money as we can't recognize them behind pounds of matted hair and gnarly makeup"

Agreed! I can hardly recognize Travolta but I can't recognize Whitaker at all! And I'd like to add, that matted hair, gnarly makeup, pointy nails and those tubes were a waste of money as they don't make them look threatening in the slightest! Ā

The action scenes are worthless; there are too many scenes of nothing but explosion and the effects donā€™t make a difference and around 95% of scenes are tilted?! Who the hell filmed those crappiest angles ever

Donā€™t even mention the awful acting (especially John Travolta and Forest Whitaker), I cannot believe that John Travolta offered to do a role in this awful movie (and because he's a scientologist, he even funded it and lost a lot of money), I also donā€™t really understand why Ker joins the good side while Terl is locked up and can only look at tons of gold

ā€˜Battlefield Earthā€™ is a truly crap movie and is definitely not worth a look at all, unless you want to see how bad it is

A superb performance from Robert Carlyle

Posted : 10 years, 7 months ago on 22 September 2013 04:06 (A review of Hitler: The Rise of Evil)

Yes there were many Hitler films before Downfall and this was an achievement, despite a few mistakes, the film was interesting with decent costumes and Robert Carlyle's performance as Hitler was brilliant!

To conclude, even though it is nothing really amazing and not as good as Downfall, it is still worth a look especially if you are interested in the life of Hitler

A very detailed movie about Hitler's downfall

Posted : 10 years, 7 months ago on 22 September 2013 03:59 (A review of Downfall)

After watching spoofs on YouTube, I found 'Downfall' on Netflix and watched it, detailed and interesting and a great cast (Bruno Ganz, Alexandra Maria Lara, Ulrich Matthes, Corinna Harfouch, Juliane Kƶhler, Thomas Kretschmann)

Bruno Ganz is just such a great actor, one performance makes him a great actor and the best part of his performance is the famous outrage scene where he puts pressure into his performance and gives a winner performance in that particular scene, the movie itself is more interesting, truer and detailed than 'Hitler: The Rise of Evil', it's just really amazing

Alexandra Maria Lara is also very good in it as Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge, although I've never seen these two actors in anything else (not that I'm aware of) they are still very talented in my opinion

To conclude, it is complete amazement, a great achievement and a must see for anyone interested in Hitlerā€™s history

My favourite film

Posted : 10 years, 7 months ago on 22 September 2013 03:57 (A review of The Shawshank Redemption)

I really love this film, it was a great idea and itā€™s well acted, a great achievement and better than Forrest Gump for sure

The story (based on a novel) is certainly very interesting about an innocent person who is sent to jail for a murder he didn't do and the escape is very funny He digs a tunnel through the wall which is covered by a poster in his cell

Coupled with a very good story is showcase performances from leads Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman, a great cast for a #1 movie

'The Shawshank Redemption' is just really amazing like 'Downfall', 'The Aviator' or 'Titanic' but better than all three of them, it truly is the best movie ever and a must-see for anyone

They got the title right

Posted : 10 years, 7 months ago on 22 September 2013 12:26 (A review of Disaster Movie)

You won't find many 0 or 1/10 ratings from me, but 'Disaster Movie' has just earned a big fat 0, the worst movie I've ever seen

What a crappy movie! Got the title right; bad story, bad directing, bad acting, wanted to stop but also wanted to see what else would happen, I only liked one scene in the movie; the part where Hannah Montana got crushed by the asteroid and revealed to be Miley Cyrus, hated the rest and I certainly think 'Disaster Movie' deserved all rotten (but Iā€™m not gonna give the positive critic abuse)

While 'Epic Movie' was terrible, it was a lot better than this, it may have featured obnoxious spoofs of Willy Wonka making candy with humans and making Harry Potter look much older but at least it featured nothing that was done here

Honestly, they completely ruined the characters; The Enchanted Princess says she actually LIVES in the sewers (as opposed to living in a fairy animated world) and does many way beyond obnoxious things, Juney lets out her baby and breast milk at people, Kung-Fu Panda is a man in an outfit and he looks very creepy, his role is fighting Calvin and the Enchanted Princess then killing them with a katana and Alvin and the Chipmunks attack them and eat Juney's flesh. Ā

Completely sexist and stupid (The Enchanted Princess ate glass when there was nothing else to eat and shows the audience her bloody teeth, she also walked on hurting glass shoes) and Juney lets out her baby so its foot goes in someone's mouth

Only an idiot would think 'Disaster Movie' was worth making, 'The Love Guru' is also terrible but a lot better, anyway 'Disaster Movie' is a lot worse than 'Epic Movie', the worst movie ever made and is absolutely not worth a look at all even if you loved 'Scary Movie' (unless you want to see how bad it is), I can't believe Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer still make movies!

Hannah Montana getting crushed gets it 3/100, 0.03 is closer to 0 than 1 so that's my rating

0/10
