Another unfunny comedy

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 6 October 2013 09:03 (A review of Big Daddy)

Is it me or are comedies getting worse? 'Big Daddy' is one of those comedies that isn't even funny. I watched it since it was on Netflix

Only at brief times, is it funny, at common other times, it is bland, gross and badly acted

'Big Daddy' is another useless comedy and not worth a look at all

Not what I was hoping for but good

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 6 October 2013 06:28 (A review of Cabaret)

Since I keep hearing good things about 'Cabaret', I wanted to watch it, it wasn't what I was hoping for, it was well acted (Liza Minnelli, Michael York, Helmut Griem, Joel Grey, Fritz Wepper, Marisa Berenson) but is still far from being a masterpiece

There is a brilliant ending with lots of Nazis everywhere

To conclude even though 'Cabaret' is far from being a masterpiece, it is still an enjoyable movie and definitely worth it

Was this gross unfunny comedy necessary? NO!

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 5 October 2013 08:05 (A review of The Love Guru)

Comedies are meant to be funny, however 'The Love Guru' demonstrates not every comedy is funny, this one is just extremely crude, gross and unfunny

'The Love Guru' (like 'Fred: The Movie') will only make you smile because of it's badness, the acting is also terrible! Ugh! Does Mike Myers have to deliver another obnoxious performance that makes him take the cake? Apparently yes! It's not as bad as 'The Cat In The Hat' but still horrendous and ridiculous

To conclude 'The Love Guru' is a painful unfunny gross comedy and not worth watching at all, even if you're a #1 fan of Mike Myers

Underrated and hilarious

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 5 October 2013 05:01 (A review of Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan)

Since I keep hearing that 'Borat' is absolutely hilarious, I was desperate to check it out and watched it

It is incredibly rude, filthy and offensive but also incredibly funny at the same time, my favorite part is when Borat finishes his bath and he finds Azamat naked and they go into a fight which includes doing filthy, rude, hilarious things to each other

Sacha Baron Cohen is pretty good in it and Borat's voice is hilarious

To conclude, the movie is filthy, rude, offensive, hilarious, hilarious, hilarious, hilarious, hilarious and a must-see for any movie lover

Better than the original

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 5 October 2013 02:57 (A review of Nanny McPhee Returns)

'Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang' is a surprising improvement over the original, funnier and more original as well as a decent cast (Emma Thompson, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Rhys Ifans, Maggie Smith, Ralph Fiennes, Asa Butterfield)

To conclude it is an achievement, better than the original and definitely worth a look

An ugly version of 'Mary Poppins'

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 5 October 2013 01:51 (A review of Nanny McPhee)

'Nanny McPhee' will please children but it's not likely to be enjoyed by grown-ups

'Nanny McPhee' is really an ugly version of 'Mary Poppins' (Emma Thompson is even in the upcoming movie 'Saving Mr Banks') and far from being a masterpiece, even though the cast is pretty good (Emma Thompson, Colin Firth, Kelly MacDonald, Angela Lansbury, Celia Imrie, Imelda Staunton, Thomas Sangster), most of the acting isn't very good, Angela Lansbury and Imelda Staunton are over the top, Kelly MacDonald, Eliza Bennett, Samuel Honywood and Holly Gibbs don't give a crap and Colin Firth is in the wrong movie - his performance is overally[Link removed - login to see], he's playing a depressed character but he gives the same performance throughout most of the movie (including many scenes when his character isn't sad)

Honestly, my brother wants to watch this all the time and I must've seen it at least 100 times by now, I wish he'd pick a much better movie as this one is just so tedious (so is 'Nim's Island' which he always chooses as well)

To conclude I think it is only really worth a look if you have young children, but even then there are many better movies you can watch.

Detailed with winner acting from Leonardo DiCaprio

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 5 October 2013 08:45 (A review of The Aviator)

I watched it since it was on Netflix, it had Leonardo DiCaprio and people keep saying good things about it

'The Aviator' is amazing, what a year for history movies ('Downfall' was also brilliant) Leonardo DiCaprio and Cate Blanchett stole the show in the showcase acting, there was a great cast (Leonardo DiCaprio, Cate Blanchett, John C. Reilly, Kate Beckinsale, Alec Baldwin, Alan Alda, Ian Holm, Danny Huston, Gwen Stefani, Jude Law, Willem Dafoe) The music is wonderful as is the cinematography

To conclude, 'The Aviator' is a great achievement and a must-see for any decent movie lover

Unfunny, boring and really overrated

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 4 October 2013 08:53 (A review of Hotel Transylvania)

One of my friends offered me to watch 'Hotel Transylvania' in the cinema and I decided to check it out, shame that a mostly decent cast (Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Kevin James, Fran Drescher, Steve Buscemi, Molly Shannon, David Spade, Cee Lo Green) would do voiceovers for a bland animated film, the story is boring and not that funny, in my opinion, 'Hotel Transylvania' is a waste of talent, really overrated, a boring animated feature and not really worth a look at all

Will only entertain very, very young children

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 4 October 2013 08:46 (A review of G-Force)

I watched ‘G-Force’ when it first came out, I was just a kid and was looking forward to it, since there was nothing else on, I decided to check it out, I expected it would be good, however despite my young age, I figured out it was a crap movie, I suppose the guinea pigs are quite cute but the story wasn’t and besides, cute doesn’t always mean funny.

'G-Force' has very average action but what a ridiculous plot - spy guinea pigs do battle with a mad billionaire who wants to conquer the earth by programming all the home appliances made by his corporation to follow his instructions.

Although the guinea pigs are cute, that's just their features, otherwise they're pretty ugly animated (Disney don't produce ugly animation with any Pixar movies or animated classics but here, the animation is pretty abysmal)

It'll be entertained by pre-schoolers, especially those who have huge interests in Disney, otherwise - no! If Walt Disney were unfrozen, he'd see how much failure Disney has produced in the past decade

I think the reason it doesn’t get the lowest score is because it’s a kids movie, even though it’s worthless, to conclude, it is a terrible film and is not worth a look even if you have very young kids (just show them anything made by Pixar) or unless this is one they really want to see (like I said, it'll only entertain very, very young children)

Thomas Sangster’s best performance

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 4 October 2013 08:40 (A review of Entrusted (2003))

I found this film on LoveFilm and decided to watch it, honestly, I thought it would be good but I didn’t expect to enjoy it that much, the acting is good (but brilliant from Klaus Maria Brandaeur and Thomas Sangster, and he was only 13 years old when he did his best performance) and the story is interesting and tells you about the war, this film is not that common in England but should come out on DVD and is definitely a must-see
